Chapter 128
By the time she dressed properly and came back out, Carson was sitting silently on the couch, his elbows on his knees, hands clasped together. The moment he saw her, he stood up and walked toward her.
“Lily,” he started quickly, “you said a lot, but you didn’t give me a chance to explain myself.”
She stopped, folding her arms. “Then tell me. What do you want to say?”
Carson took a deep breath, his eyes locked on hers. “I don’t have any bad intentions toward you. If you’re upset because of last night because I told your friend I was your boyfriend , then I’m sorry. I only said it to protect you. I didn’t mean to cross a line.”
Lily’s eyes flickered, remembering that moment.
Carson continued, “Yes, it’s true… I do feel something for you. I can’t lie about that. But if you’re uncomfortable, I won’t force you. I just… I’d like to be your friend at the very least. If you really want, I’ll leave this place. You can stay here.”
