This whole mess, honestly, was on Elaine. She'd pretty much set it all off, so taking responsibility just made sense. But when she thought about what she'd put her mentor through, her guilt bubbled up.
Oliver, on the other hand, just said calmly, "Didn't think you'd go this far for him."
"Huh? What do you mean?" Elaine blinked, puzzled over who that "him" was supposed to be.

She'd never admit it, though. Not a chance. So she said stubbornly, "This is my screw-up. I was just trying to find a way to fix it."
