Too bad Elaine was faster—before Fiona could even react, Elaine swiftly caught her hand mid-air, curved her lips into a faint smile, and said lightly, "Miss Foster, maybe keep your hands to yourself next time."
Then came a crisp slap across Fiona's face, clean and sharp. The sound was loud enough that at least half the people in the banquet hall turned their heads.
