Chapter 1 Born Anew for Revenge

"She'll die if this continues! She's your fiancée!" The doctor, drenched in sweat, pleaded desperately. Standing aside, the man's handsome face showed no trace of emotion. He stared at the woman lying on the bed—nearly lifeless—with icy indifference in his eyes. "Better she dies. A woman like her doesn't deserve to be my wife." So much pain! What's going on...? Strange... Wasn't she killed in an ambush, betrayed by her own men during a mission? With that explosion, she should've been reduced to ashes. Why does she feel pain? Violet Leach slowly opened her eyes. Her vision was blurry—she could only vaguely make out several white coats moving in front of her. Could it be? She didn't die? Was she sent to the hospital? Before she could make sense of anything, a sudden, searing headache exploded in her skull. Then, a flood of foreign memories surged in, nearly killing her from the agony. After absorbing the memories, she finally understood: yes, she had died. Now she had been reborn into the body of another girl—also named Violet Leach. The man named Mosley standing here was the original's fiancé, Brian Mosley. Today was supposed to be their wedding day. But the original's best friend, Evelyn Conrad, had rushed into the ceremony hall, claiming she was pregnant with his child and that they were deeply in love, begging the original to let them be together. Then, she faked being pushed by the original, collapsed dramatically, and was rushed to the hospital. Evelyn had a rare blood type, one of the rarest in the world. Coincidentally, hers matched the original's exactly. To save his beloved woman, Brian Mosley had forcibly brought the original to the hospital and forced her to donate blood. Just as the memory reached this point, Brian's cold, heartless words cut through Violet's thoughts. "She's a venomous bitch with a heart of stone. She won't die. Keep going!" How cruel! Violet clenched her fists, her heart aching as if being sliced by a knife. This pain came from the body's instinct—uncontrollable. Violet knew this was the original's reaction, born from utter despair. From this moment on, she *was* Violet Leach. Everyone who had wronged her would pay—every single one. "She's struggling!" the doctor shouted. "Hold her down!" Brian snapped, stepping forward himself to pin down Violet's arms. Summoning all her strength, Violet first kicked away the nurse restraining her, then flipped up like a leaping carp, throwing off everyone holding her. Now sitting upright on the bed, her phoenix-like eyes narrowed, her gaze icy. She swept her eyes across the room. The doctors and nurses stood frozen, stunned by Violet's sudden display. Brian stepped forward, his brows furrowed in anger. "Violet Leach, what the hell are you doing? Lie back down! Evelyn is still waiting for her life-saving transfusion!" Violet looked at Brian impassively, her voice cool and faintly impatient. "Who do you think you are? Why should I sacrifice myself to save Evelyn Conrad?" "How dare you ask why? If you hadn't pushed her, would she be in this condition?" Brian roared furiously. "Ha!" Violet scoffed. "Are you deaf? I already said—Evelyn faked it. She fell on purpose and framed me." The original had cried and explained this countless times at the ceremony, but Brian refused to believe her. "Enough! I saw you push her with my own eyes. Even now, you still won't admit it!" Brian's eyes burned with disgust. Violet shook her head. "Looks like you're blind after all." Her voice dripped with sarcasm. "What did you say?!" Brian couldn't believe his ears. The old Violet had always obeyed him completely—whatever he said, she accepted. She never dared to talk back. But this—this wasn't something she would ever say. Slowly, Violet stepped off the bed. Due to blood loss, her body swayed slightly. Brian's patience had worn thin. "One last time—I'm telling you to lie down. Otherwise, I'll have you arrested immediately and punished accordingly!" Violet walked up to Brian, lifting her chin, meeting his gaze without fear, anger, or submission. "You don't believe me? I can make you believe." "Violet Leach! Did you hear me? I'm telling you for the last—" Brian's words were cut short as Violet's fist slammed into his stomach. "Ugh—" Brian groaned in pain, slowly sinking to his knees, his face turning red and purple, a vein throbbing at his temple. How strong! How could Violet have such power? Brian looked up in shock—Violet was already walking out of the room. No good! She's going after Evelyn! He had to get there fast to protect her! Ignoring the pain in his gut, Brian scrambled to his feet and rushed after her. Violet arrived at the VIP ward where Evelyn was staying. She pushed the door open, stepped in, and locked it behind her. "Bang! Bang! Bang!" Brian pounded on the door, shouting through the observation window, "Violet Leach! Open this door! I'm warning you—if you hurt Evelyn, I'll make you suffer beyond endurance!" Ignoring Brian's threats and roars, Violet turned and walked toward Evelyn. Evelyn's face was pale as paper, lips colorless. "Not bad, Evelyn Conrad. I'll give your makeup skills a 60—barely passing." This little trick was nothing compared to her mastery of disguise. Hearing Violet's words, Evelyn almost rolled her eyes. A useless nobody like her—daring to talk like that? Other than being born into a better family, what else did she have? Just as Evelyn thought this, Violet suddenly grabbed her hand. "Violet... please... please don't hurt my baby... After my child is born, you can do whatever you want to me... Just don't harm my baby..." Her pitiful plea wasn't even finished before tears streamed down her face, sobbing like a willow in the rain—heartbreakingly fragile. "Bang! Bang! Bang!" Brian continued hammering the door, threatening Violet. Violet released Evelyn's hand and stood over her, looking down from the bedside. "Evelyn Conrad, you're faking the pregnancy." Evelyn's pupils widened in shock. She stared at Violet in disbelief. How did she know? Could it be—when she grabbed her hand, she was taking her pulse? Impossible! Violet couldn't know medicine—she was certain of that! "You... what are you talking about? I... I don't understand. Violet, I'm dying... It doesn't matter if I die, but my child is innocent... Please, save us..." Still pretending? A faint, mocking curve tugged at Violet's lips. "Evelyn Conrad, care for a bet? In five minutes, I'll make you reveal your true self." Seeing that devilish smirk, Evelyn felt a sudden surge of panic. What was she going to do? Before Evelyn could react, Violet raised her hand and slapped her face—hard.
