Chapter 82
“I don’t believe you can do that to me, Ashley.” Uno said confidently, his eyes piercing through me.
“Why not?” I asked seductively.
“Because you love me? And you will not dare to hurt me because you love me so damn much.”
“Ha-ha such confident you have in there, Uno.” I faked a laugh. “But what if I really did spread it? What will you do to me?” I’m still not giving up, my face now an inch closer to his.
“Then, I’ll punish you.” he whispered huskily. I could feel his breath touching my lips. A smell of ambrette and vanilla with a touch of a mint.
I moved closer and touched my lips with his, kissing him softly and before he could respond, I immediately pulled away. “Ashley…” he groaned.
“I’ll tell you everything later, baby. But for now, can you please get Missy her food?” I ordered and he scratched his nape, walking to the kitchen with the bag in his hand.
Soon, he was feeding Missy and I was amazed at how well-behaved Missy was. Not once did she throw a tantrum or cry.
“Can you say my name?” I asked her, in a babylike tone. She flipped her eyes at me curiously and pouted.
“Say Ash, baby.” Uno coaxed her in his deep voice and she smiled at him, oblivious to anything.
“Say… Ash.” I slowly enunciated each word.
“At…” Missy said in an innocent tone and blushed as we praised her. She fell slowly on my lap, and soon she was asleep.
“Ash, we need to talk now.” Uno then informed me. I stopped caressing Missy’s little hand and looked at Uno with a frown but nodded mutely as I tucked Missy on my bed and walked out to where Uno was sitting on the couch, waiting for me.
I sat next to him and got comfortable, leaning against the opposite end so I was facing him. “It was Kate.” I started and he looked surprised for a second. “He spread the video of your…”
He sighed heavily and looked at me. “How?” he asked.
“Remember the day she came over here and spilled orange juice on you? When you went to change in your room, she followed you and took a video of you changing from a crack in your door.” I looked down, scared as to what I was going to reply to his next question.
“What the fuck, Ashley?! Why didn’t you tell me this?” he suddenly shouted. His face going ten shades red in anger.
I winced, realizing my foolishness. I knew I made a mistake here. I should’ve told Uno about this the moment I caught Kate taking the video. “I’m so sorry, Uno. I thought she would be sensible enough to delete it when I told her to.”
Uno still looked at me with the same shocked expression. “For god’s sake, Ashley! It was Kate we’re talking here! I’m really surprised by the faith you have in her!”
I hung my head low. It was partly my fault. I really should’ve told Uno that day itself or better yet, made her delete in front of me.
“I’m sorry.” I mumbled again, not able to meet his eyes. “I honestly thought she would delete it. I mean, I didn’t know her that well at that time. But I made her delete it in the school, though.”
“It’s worthless now, because for all I know, she must have shown it to her little gang of annoying minions and the next thing you knew, the whole university will know it, watch it and was now laughing at me.”
My heart physically ached seeing him like this. He sat there, elbows resting on his knees and hands running through his hair.
I remembered the story he told me when he became the laughing stock in his old school, wherein Mia spread in the whole school that he was gay because his buddy’s not getting hard on her.
I moved closer to him and leaned onto his side, placing my chin on his hard shoulder. “I’m sorry. Don’t worry, Uno. Everyone will forget about it soon.” I cautiously maneuvered my hand to his and caught it. He stayed silent, taking his time calming down. “At least now, we have to do something about her.” I murmured.
“I know.” he replied and my eyebrow twitched in annoyance.
“Then do something about it, Uno! She has lost it! When I went to confront her about this whole video thing, she still had the audacity to grin at me and laugh shamelessly! She’s crazy, Uno! She’s insane!” I almost yelled, getting frustrated by his hesitation to help her. “You promised me. You said you’ll do anything to get her away from us.”
“I—I don’t know what to do, Ashley.” He whispered, a lost look in his eyes. “If I take her to a shrink, she will create a huge issue about it. The main thing I’m scared about is—she might hurt herself if I will take any step against her.”
I kept quiet. Honestly, I wanted to kill Kate now.
“I know you don’t like her, Ashley. Nobody does. But she actually had done a lot for me. She had helped me settle in here, learn the American way of life. She was never actually like this. I don’t know what has gotten into her but I can’t do anything that will end up with her hurting herself. I won’t be able to live with that.”
I sank back in my seat, trying to understand Uno’s point of view. He didn’t want to take any step against her because he was scared she might do something to herself and he would have to live with the guilt forever. Also, he didn’t want to lose her because he thought behind all her craziness, Kate’s still an angel.
Hell to the no! I’ll do anything to make that psychotic whore out of our lives. Kate’s a bitch, not sweet one but a crazy hoe!
