"Drexon told me that I need to watch over the kids while you both attend an event," my mom said. I had gone into the room to check on her, and she sprung it on me. I almost roll my eyes at Drexon; he had really gone out to make sure I did not have an excuse for skipping the event.
"Is there a reason you both are so careful around the children and are continuously breathing down their necks? I don't mean this in a bad way; I am just saying that I think you should let them be free." I could sense the intention in her words, but how do I tell her that I am scared someone will come and hurt them?
