When Drexon drives it back to what had happened this morning, I feel sick to my stomach. Marcus was right, and I knew it; I had to talk to Drexon about what had happened. Trying to hide it was not going to do me any good. I could not just appear with papers and ask him to sign, thinking it was going to go smoothly, so, doing the only thing I knew how to do in that moment, I opened my mouth, and the words flowed out.
"Our divorce"
Drexon's forehead crinkles almost immediately as if he had rehearsed for all this his whole life. "What divorce? I don't recall us having any conversation, and with the place we are in right now, I do not think that we would be thinking of getting a divorce."
I nod because he is right; I never thought that Drexon and I would have fallen for each other, but then here we are, and I want to hold on as much as I can. I lift my body a bit and pull out the phone I had been conveniently sitting on. I scroll to Lucy's text and explain the entire thing to him.
