When we both get home, the first thing we do is check on Zayden and Aria.
"We were so worried about you," I tell the kids, and Zayden sends me a look. I wonder if he and Drexon had spoken about the incidents. Did his look know that he knew something was going on, or was he asking me to keep my promise?
"Luneth? The news is saying that you were caught in a fire today," my mom said as she walked into the room. She was too sad, and I hated that she had said this in front of the kids.
"Fire?" Aria asked, and I shook my head.
"No," I say, wanting to explain but not being able to say anything. "No, Fred, the car was set on fire. "I am fine, as you can see." I look to Drexon and hope that he will explain to them.
"It was an accident with the car, but all is okay," he says in simple terms, and I wonder why my brain had short-circuited so easily.
"Are you okay, though?" Zaydne asked, and I nodded.
"I am fine; you do not have to worry about this at all."
