Dinner was quiet, and I liked it; it seemed like a break from all of the craziness that seemed to be around lately. I made Aria sit beside me to prove a point to everyone. When Jane came into the room to ask Aria to follow her, the girl refused and clung to my side, which sent so much joy to me—more than being given a second chance. I see the disappointment on her face grow, and it makes them too glad.
Another strange man comes into the room and stands by the door; he looked like he was calculating as his eyes glanced and stopped on each person in the room.
