I did not realise what kind of job it would be to plan a party for third graders, but Aria had specific things she wanted. We had decided to have the party over the weekend, and she was so happy that she informed me that everyone in her class was coming over. Zayden, who had tried to put on his brave face, had commented on it.
"It's not her birthday, and there is nothing to celebrate. I wonder why we are having a party." I know he was right, but the request for a party had ambushed me, and I had agreed to it. There was no backing out now. He did not like the idea, but his ideas as to how to make it go smoothly were greatly appreciated.
