Chapter 503
Clara poured Kian and Yohan a cup of tea each. She settled down beside Yohan and stared at him, ready to tap him on the thigh as a reminder if he tried to drink tea. She didn't want him to lose sleep.
Kian accepted the cup with both hands and thanked Clara. He merely took a sip before setting the cup on the coffee table.
Yohan asked Kian in a deep, unfeeling voice, "How long have you been waiting out there?"
"It wasn't that long; just a few hours," Kian answered. "Yohan, I'm here to explain what happened earlier today. I had no idea about it, and I wasn't involved."
Yohan snapped, "Of course, you weren't with them, or you wouldn't be able to sit here unharmed."
If Kian conspired with the Waleses, Yohan would have refused to see him instead of inviting him into the house.
Kian broke out in cold sweat, feeling fortunate for not listening to Elena and working with the Waleses—partly also because he knew the Waleses were out of their minds.
