Anthony watched Maeve's unwavering hostility and moved to sit on the nearby couch.
"Maeve," he began evenly, "By family ties, you should be calling me Uncle Brooks."
When Maeve's expression didn't falter, Anthony continued, "I mean no harm. I simply have my reasons for everything I do, and you all are, unfortunately, in my way."
