Alexander was about to withdraw his hand when he shifted it to the back of Blair's head. In the next moment, he grasped it firmly and pulled her closer. His fingertips pressed against her chin and gently lifted it. The simple act of it caused Blair to tilt her head back, the elegant line of her neck arching into a graceful curve. Then, he lowered his head and kissed her deeply. The kiss was forceful, domineering, and searingly hot—so intense that it seemed to boil the blood coursing through her body. Blair reached out instinctively, intending to push him away, but her hand brushed against the hard, burning heat of his abs. Startled, she pulled back her hands, unsure where to place them. Alexander cornered her into the edge of the couch, where she found herself trapped between the cushions and the cage of his arms. His body was like a wall of steel, enclosing her completely, with nowhere to escape. At the tip of her nose lingered the faint scent of tobacco and pure masculinity.
