At the sight of Blair refusing to take his debit card, Gregory's expression hardened.
"Are you seriously going to wait until you're in court to realize how screwed you are? Everything has limits, Blair. Push too far and nobody's going to help you anymore," he threatened.
She hurled the card directly at his face, challenging, "Really? That's exactly what I want."
The sharp corner of the platinum card sliced across Gregory's cheek, leaving a thin red welt. No one had ever dared throw something at him before, and his expression immediately darkened.
However, as he stared at Blair's delicate, beautiful features, he couldn't bring himself to say anything harsh. He tilted his head back and exhaled slowly, then told himself that there was no point getting worked up over a stubborn woman who didn't know any better.
In a few days, when the reality of her situation finally hit her and fear set in, she'd come running back to him for help. When that happened, though, he wouldn't be anywhere
