Chapter 101

I kept a straight face. "Just looking at you makes me sick. Get out of my face, Alicia. You too, Jonathan." Alicia was visibly shaken. She was at a loss for words for some time. "Are you out of your mind, Elise?" It took her forever to speak. When she did, she spat through gritted teeth, like she was choking on rage. "I just came to see how you're doing. Was that really worth all this attitude?" I muttered, "Probably not." Then, I looked into Alicia's eyes. "Can you go now?" Alicia immediately looked at Jonathan with a wounded look. "Jon." I shut her snarky attitude down with how blunt I was. Jonathan ignored her completely and looked at me with a frown. He didn't let go and just hauled me up from the bed. "Looks like you've got your strength back." His deep voice sounded above me. "Since you're fine, head back to the Ford residence and get some rest." He said it like it was final with no room for argument. I tried to resist, but Jonathan still took me home from the hospital.
