Jonathan frowned and looked over when he heard my voice. His gaze was as cold as ever. "Elise?" Alicia sounded surprised, and there was just the right amount of panic in her voice. She hurriedly climbed off the table, stood up straight, smoothed her slightly messy hair, and gave me an embarrassed smile. "I'm sorry. I didn't know you were coming." She paused for a second before continuing to explain, "I was just fixing Jonathan's collar. Don't get the wrong idea."
