I was hiding behind Frederick because I didn't want Jonathan to see me. But he saw me anyway, so I had no choice but to come out and meet his gaze. "I don't need your permission to go anywhere." Jonathan walked right up to me and grabbed my wrist. "Come with me." He pressed on my wound again. Every time it started to heal, he set me back to square one. Gritting through the pain, I shook his hand away in annoyance. "I've got stuff to do. You go ahead without me." Jonathan locked eyes with me. "Spare me the excuses. What's so important?" I turned my back on him. "It's my business, not yours. Stay out of it." Jonathan chuckled darkly. "You gave him that bottle of First Love, and then you're alone in his room. What makes you think I would let that slide, Elise?" I spun on my heels. "Can you stop being such a hypocrite? I didn't say a thing when you were hanging out with Alicia." Jonathan closed in on me, grabbing my chin and forcing me to look up at him. "Haven't you complained more
