Chapter 66

Mila waited for almost 40 minutes before finally finding a cab willing to pick her up. What an exhausting day it had been. When she got home, Mila dragged herself into the bathroom to take a hot shower. When she came out, she didn't even have the strength to dry her hair. She sank into her bed and almost immediately succumbed to sleep. Luckily for Mila, the next two days were the weekend, and she enjoyed a rare morning of sleeping in. After getting up, she made some chicken noodle soup and prepared to go to the hospital to see Emma. Just as she stepped out the door, she ran into the building's cleaning lady, who was muttering under her breath, "Who's so inconsiderate, smoking at the emergency exit?" … Emma had recovered quite well, and she looked more energetic than before.
