Chapter 10
One ordinary winter morning, a marketplace vendor had just opened shop when he spotted a shabbily dressed man curled up on the ground.
"It's that beggar again," the vendor said, spitting carelessly.
No one recognized him as the Don who used to hold the entire island of Savon in the palm of his hand.
On the other side of Savon, I lounged comfortably in my bedroom, listening to Anna gossip cheerfully.
"Where is he right now?" I asked.
Anna covered her mouth, looking repulsed. "He went dumpster-diving at the marketplace in Old Horndean. I heard he fought the stray dogs for food."
I chuckled, then turned to give my subordinates orders. "Continue monitoring him. Don't let him die too easily."
"Got it. Everyone in Savon understands the rules. They won't show him any courtesy."
At first, Casper had tried to leave Savon, but he couldn't even stow away on a fishing boat without my permission.
Then, he sought out his old friends for help, but he ended up getting turned away or ridiculed
