Chapter 4
Casper spent the next few days torturing me in different ways.
He made the doctor start injecting me with sedatives, calling it treatment. To outsiders, I had finally become "quiet" and "docile".
He found a tattoo artist to tattoo the symbol of a traitor on my clavicle in front of everyone. He said it would let everyone know that I was a lunatic who needed to be restrained.
During a family meeting, he ordered me to kneel before everyone and let his men take turns listing all the crazy things I had done in the past. The person who listed the most deeds would be allowed to slap me.
He forced me to kneel at his feet in the room we slept in during our honeymoon, repeating how I had been humiliated by his enemies over and over again.
On the 20th day, I guessed he had grown tired of it, so he gave me the most fatal blow.
He brought Rebecca, dressed in a pure white wedding dress, before me. He then forced me to watch as he gently took her dress off, kissed her aroused body, and brought her to heights she had never reached before by repeatedly hitting her deepest spots.
I lay on the cold floorboards, smelling the scent of their intercourse and listening to their passionate moans. I felt like I had died again.
Once he had thoroughly destroyed me, Casper returned my freedom.
"Punishment's over, Vivian. I hope you'll remember this lesson."
He ordered his men to throw me into an open space in the rose garden. Rebecca leaned against his chest, as quiet as a truly untainted lily.
I couldn't tell if I was crying or laughing as I staggered back to my room by myself.
Casper naturally believed that I was a loyal dog who would feel grateful for his leniency. However, he didn't know that a dog pushed to its limits would still bite its owner.
Besides, I was a mad dog.
I grabbed the phone I hadn't used in a while and called my best friend, Anna Lucenti.
"Anna, I need the pseudocide pills you developed as soon as possible. Also, help me contact Viper's men. Tell them I want to work with them to take down Don Leone."
