The car ride home was in silence. What Emily had said earlier was just an excuse, but the moment she closed her eyes, a wave of exhaustion crashed down on her like a tide. It wasn't long before she fell into a deep sleep. When she was woken up, she found herself at the gate to her home. She rubbed her bleary eyes, opened the car door, and stepped out.
