Chapter 27
Derrick's gaze darkened as a murderous edge flickered in his eyes. He harbored intense hatred toward the mob.
When Melanie noticed Derrick, she cried out in shock and yanked the clothes over herself. In embarrassment and anger, she scolded, "Derrick Quinton! Why didn't you knock?"
She was so angry that she called him by his full name.
"Get out!" she insisted.
She had just finished her shower and wasn't wearing any makeup, so she dared not turn around.
"What's there to see about your body?" Derrick indifferently tossed the medicine onto the bed. "I'm only here to dress your wound. You're a divorced woman. Add a few scars, and no one will want you for a second marriage. If I end up having to take responsibility, it'll be troublesome."
Even while offering help, Derrick couldn't resist delivering a jab.
Melanie gritted her teeth in anger. Her heart pounded and her cheeks flushed red. She snapped, "I said get out! I don't need your help!"
