Chapter 7
That day, Design Team A had a proposal to send to the Marketing Department.
The Marketing Department, Design Team B, and the CEO's office were all in the same building.
I happened to have plans with Julian to head to the Stirling residence for dinner after work, so I dropped off the proposal myself.
Little did I know that I would bump into David while waiting for the elevator.
Amidst the crowd, he gritted his teeth and called out, "Darina!"
I turned around and was taken aback.
There was no doubt that he was handsome, and he had always maintained a clean, aloof image all these years. Yet at that moment, he looked worn out. He had terrible dark circles under his eyes, as if he hadn't had a good night's sleep in a long time.
While I was stunned, he dragged me into the stairwell.
He pressed his hands against the wall, caging me in as he stared at me. His chest heaved, almost brushing against mine. There was a restrained anger in his eyes, as well as something else I couldn't quite
