Night fell over Silverpeak, and the city's neon lights flickered to life, yet Isabella was in no mood to admire them. She sat quietly by the window, staring at the documents that Adrian had sent someone to deliver an hour earlier, still unopened. This file before her was like a Pandora's box, holding a fatal allure over her. She desperately wanted to know what was inside, yet at the same time, feared that it would be exactly what she imagined. After hesitating for a long while, Isabella took a deep breath and made up her mind. Slowly, she reached out to open the document. The first thing that spilled out when she opened it was a stack of photographs of Samantha. In the photos, Samantha's once beautiful face was covered in bruises and wounds. There were also traces of blood coming from her mouth. Isabella flipped through the photographs one by one, but every image only made her frown deepen. When she reached the final photograph, her hand froze in midair. In that photo, Samantha
