Chapter 4 Spotlights On Me

I stared at the message on my phone with my heart beating out of my chest. How in the world did he get my number? He doesn't even know my name! The thoughts flipped over and over in my mind wondering how this could even happen when Jess skipped into my room. "Hey are we heading out or not, I was gonna meet up with Kyle once I walked with you to work..." Jess's voice trailed off when she saw the look on my face. "What's up." I pointed the phone in her direction, knowing full well she must have something to do with this. "This is whats up. How does he have my number Jess?" I enquired with an angry scowl on my face. She tried to suppress the the smile forming on her face and pretend she had nothing to do with it, but I knew better. "I have know idea, who is it?" "You know very well who it is. The guy you brought up at my kitchen table just a moment ago, the one I just said was being a pain in the ass at the party. Why does he have my number Jess?" I pushed. "Ok fine, I gave him your number, he just said he wanted to apologize for the way he was acting, and besides only you would complain when the hottest guy in school is suddenly shooting you texts and showing interest in you." She rolled her eyes. "Oh your right, I should be so grateful that little old me got a moments attention by the king of the school himself." I said putting my hand over my heart pretending I'm about to faint. "What was I thinking? I must run to his side right away in hopes that he will pull me in his arms and hold me forever." I dramatically grabbed Jessica's arms and wrapped them around me for effect. "Alright, alright stop that." We both laughed while she pushed me away. "If your really not interested in what he has to say just ignore the message and he will probably get the point and go about his days." She shrugged. "Ya I suppose so. I just won't respond, I'm sure it will be easy for Mr. Perfect to forget about the whole thing." Monday: (Alicia) The weekend went by fast and it was back to school. Man I couldn't wait until I graduated and I could pick a collage, and get on with real life. To say I never really felt like a teenager would be an understatement. I always felt like I was the grandma of every group situation I was in. Which would be why I wasn't too keen on parties. Just another opportunity to see how much I do not fit in. I just always had more fun at home, either reading or doing my studies. I enjoyed my time alone, and people can't seem to wrap their minds around that. But here I was trying to get through another week. I don't have to worry much about it though, as I said, know one really pays any attention to me, so I just need to make my way to my classes like I do each week... and for god sakes I need to forget about what happened at that party. I don't know what I'm even worried about, it's not like he's even gonna remember me. Probably doesn't even remember what I looked like. I didn't even receive another text from him after that first one, so I doubt he's going to invest anymore time on the subject. Pretty sure he was just out to mess with me anyway. I made my way to my locker finding a couple making out in front of it, and I tried desperately to get their attention, they ignored me of course. I would like to say this is the first time this has happened, but unfortunately, that would be a lie. "Excuse me, I really would like to get into my locker." Nothing, absolutely no response. I throw my arms up in the air in defeat and my eyes shot down the hallway to none other then Logan. He looked beautiful as always, and as always he stands there with his followers around him knowing how perfect he is. I roll my eyes and scoff at his obvious arrogance and was about to walk away when something different happened. His eyes shot right up to mine. He wasn't looking through me, he wasn't looking at a hot chick behind me, he was looking straight into my eyes, and a knowing smirk began to form on his face. I immediately thought to retreat, but it was too late, he was already making his way towards me. So I just opted for ignoring the situation and make a last attempt to get into my locker for my books. "Excuse me I really need to get into my locker, could you guys please just take it somewhere else." They heard me that time but the girl just gave me a dirty look and continued sucking face with the Bieber wannabe, in the meantime Logan was closing in. He now stood right beside me and like a child I refused to turn around and look at him. He tapped the shoulder of the guy in front of my locker, the guy turned around and saw Logan, he literally only had to give them a look and they were gone. "Thanks." I mumbled while opening up my locker. "Are you not going to look at me." "I have no problem with looking at you." I looked up giving him my best disinterested look. "I'm just getting ready for class. Its what we are here for after all." I closed my locker and began walking down the hall in hopes that he would lose interest...he did not. He continued to follow me down the hall to no avail. Once we got to nearly the other side of the school I abruptly turned around not being able to take it anymore. He stopped short shocked by my sudden change of course. "Why are you following me Logan?" I said narrowing my eyes, and pointing my finger at him, trying to look more threatening then I actually was. "Why didn't you text me back?" He asked out of the blue, sending me into a stutter not knowing what to say. "I... didn't know it was you." I lied. "That, is a lie. You knew it was me. I have never met a girl like you Alicia. I have never had anyone ignore my texts before. I gotta tell you, it has me intrigued." Theres that devils smile again, man this guy really thinks he is gods gift doesn't he. "Well perhaps Logan.." I began, bringing myself a bit closer so I could whisper "I've done you some good." I turned and walked into my class that we had stopped in front of and left him there to let that sink in. I can't believe I had done that, it was borderline flirting! With Logan Saunders! Who am I? I have never done anything remotely like the stuff I have done in the past three days, but for some reason he brings it out of me, I either want to murder him, or make out with him. Either way he brings out emotions in me that I am not used to and would like to be rid of. Hopefully he will now get bored and go about his business. (Logan) I stood there in the hallway completely at a loss for words. I stared at her for a solid five minutes before the bell went off and realized I needed to be in my own class. I peeled my eyes away and headed down the hall with a smile on my face. Something about this girl has got me hooked. I have never had a girl not throw themselves at me, and how have I not seen her before. Theres just no way I wouldn't have seen those beautiful brown eyes, and that body. Sure, she clearly isn't interested in wearing things that show off her body, but she did at the party, and now I know its there and I've had nothing else on my mind. Putting all that aside that fire inside her is infectious. I can't get enough of it. I feel a need to piss her off just so I can see that adorable miniature face flush with anger, and the cute way she tries to intimidate me. But I never would have guessed she would be able to seduce me with her words the way that she has. I've had a taste...and now I want more.
