Chapter 9 Now For Her Wrath

Just as I closed my locker I turned and instantly was face to face with the Queen herself. I was taken aback but I held my head up high. "Can I help you?" I asked with a bored tone. "Yes, you can stay away from Logan for one. As for yesterday, I haven't quite figured out how you are going to pay for that. But lets just say, it's in the works." She said with a mischievous grin. Her two followers were right behind her attempting to intimidate me (and it was working), not that I was going to show them that. I continued to stare her down just the same to show her that she doesn't scare me in the least (which she absolutely does). She kept that creepy smile on her face the whole time, like she could see right through me. "Sarah, as far as yesterday goes, I don't apologize for anything, you insulted me first. And as for Logan, well I guess that is up to him, I really didn't expect to be of interest to him, but I guess now I am. If I do decide not to be around Logan, its because I no longer wanted to, it's not going to have anything whatsoever to do with you." I stated, getting a little bit angry. Her smile turned into a scowl and she looked like she was going to have a retort but right at that moment Jess showed up beside me with Kyle, much to the crowds dismay. Yes, a crowd had developed. "Is anything wrong here." She said putting her arm around my shoulder to indicate that she fully had my back. Sarah looked at the two of them and thought better of it, for now. "No, nothing at all, just saying good morning to Alicia here." she slowly walked away adding. "Watch your back." Logan Finally! She's giving me a chance, man that girl is hard to get into her good graces. I meant everything I said, this is no longer a game for me, I see that now. I need to know what she's thinking, want her to know what I'm thinking. This can't be good, I mean I've always been a one woman man, I've never cheated on anyone that I have ever dated, but all the other relationships have always been so shallow, there was never any depth, it was always about sex and status. Once I broke up with the she-devil I knew deep down that that was it for me for relationships that was based solely on looks, money and popularity. I didn't realize what was happening at the time but not only did Alicia capture my eyes, she slowly was showing me what I wanted in a relationship from now on, and I wanted it with her. I made my way to my locker after leaving Alicia and walked up to my friends that were waiting for me. "Hey man, whats going on with you and that new chick." Brett said nodding his head in her general direction behind me. "I hope something, I don't know yet we will see where it all goes." Brett and Jesse looked at me like I had two heads, it might be because I was grinning from ear to ear when she was brought up. "Holy shit man, you really like this girl." Jesse said giving me a pat on the back. "Don't worry about it." I said shoving him into the locker with a grin on my face. "What you should worry about is your ex getting all up in her business now that she's of interest to you and after that epic scene yesterday, which by the way was absolutely amazing, I mean new girl's got a mouth on her, and she doesn't hold back." Brett gushed. He made a good point, something I didn't think about as I made my way to school today thinking about nothing else other then getting Alicia to accept a date with me. I completely forgot that Sarah would have her in her sights and will want to make her life a living hell. Both Brett and Jesse's eyes were averted down the hall where I left Alicia at her locker and sure enough when I looked down the hall, a big crowd had developed and there was Sarah herself towering over Alicia like she was about to eat her for lunch, with the help of her two side kicks. I bolted towards them getting ready to tear someone apart and was almost there when Alicia's friend Jess and her boyfriend were at her side. I'm not sure what Alicia had said to Sarah at this point but it had her livid and walking away. Sarah was now walking towards me and her scowl turned into a sweet innocent smile. "Hi Logan, did you come to meet me before class." She said fluttering her eyes up at me. "You know I didn't Sarah, what were you saying to Alicia?" I demanded. "Nothing, just saying bygones with what happened yesterday and let her know I don't hold any ill will towards her. I mean, she did say some nasty things about me, but I suppose it was in the heat of the moment." She exclaimed innocently. "You caused that Sarah stop acting all innocent." I said quite annoyed. "Logan, you know how jealous I can get with you. I know you wanted to take a break but don't you think that enough is enough and it's time to just get back together. You've had your fun with the little one over there, but lets now get back to reality and who you really belong with." She ran her hand up and down my chest as though she was staking claim to me. I removed her hand from me and took a step back. "Sarah, I was not taking a break from you, I broke up with you. Big difference, and I'm not just having fun with Alicia, I really do like her and if you do anything to hurt her you will have to answer to me." She looked taken aback by my words but soon regained her composure. A sly smile returned to her evil face, and she once again came closer to me. "Do you think that Miss Innocent will be all that happy to hear about your little family secret." I tensed up while her eyes glistened because she knew that she had gotten to me. At that she continued. "You're never going to be able to tell her about the real you, you will never be able to be yourself with her, not like me." I pushed Sarah away and continued to walk down the hall. As much crap as Sarah talks, she may be right about this one. My family has a sorted past that I wasn't too keen on sharing with many people. I only really told Sarah because she seemed like she may have understood me at the time. I was very wrong. I walked up to Alicia who was waving her goodbyes with her books in her arms to her friends, and I grabbed her books from her arms. She looked up at me shocked but still allowed me to take her books from her. "I'll walk you to class." I stated matter of factly not really giving her an option. "What did Sarah say to you just now?" "Nothing Logan, just the things you would expect her to say, like I'm gonna get you and stay away from my boyfriend." She exclaimed with air quotes. "I am not her boyfriend, and I want you to tell me if she's bugging you in any way." "Logan.." she began while rolling her eyes. "I'm serious Alicia." I interrupted her. "I don't want you to have to deal with her just because of me, she's my problem." "I beg to differ Logan. I stood up for myself in the woods yesterday, and I'm not backing away from you so..." She attempted to continue on down the hall but I stopped short. "Wait." I stopped her, she looked at me confused. "Did you say what I think you just said." "What?" She looked away. "Yes you did, you just said you weren't backing away from me, I think you are finally admitting you like me a little." I said with the biggest grin. She rolled her eyes at that saying, "Ok big boy don't start getting a big head, give me my books I gotta go to class." She took her books from me skimming her hands across my arm, I don't know if she did it on purpose but it sure got my attention. But she took off before I could do anything about it. "See ya later Princess." I winked.
