Attacked

Tina steadied herself and was going to look up at the fellow who yanked the door of her car open when the fellow pulled her by the hair and dragged her out. Tina felt her head pain and her skull sore. "Ahhhh, stop this" she screamed trying to appear as a weakling and studying the men who had come to attack her. From her split vision, she counted them to be four. But it appeared as if the most brutal one was standing with his hands crossed and waiting for her to be dragged to his feet. She quickly thought of a strategy to attack. When the idiot dragging her to their boss gets close to the boss, she would attack and before the others would be awake, she would have gotten their boss and used him as bait to get the others surrender. "Aahhh" Tina screamed and the fellow dragging her seemed to enjoy the fact that she screamed. Her pain has just begun. "Let go of me," Tina yelled, hitting the fellow on his arm. He ignored her as if he wasn't the one that was being hit. When he got closer to the boss,a few inches from him, she suddenly turned herself and slid out of the fellow's grip. Before realizing that she had slipped off, she already gave him a hot blow on his face, obviously breaking his nose and one of his eyes was affected too. He staggered and for a while completely lost his balance. Tina was going to attack the boss when another member attacked her from behind. She gripped his hand and raised him, making him tumble before her. He fell to the ground and Tina gave him a vicious kick on his clavicle, he remained on the floor panting unsure if he would make it out alive. She gave him another kick below his abdomen and that fellow screamed like someone stung by a scorpion. She brought out her pistol and aimed at the boss. She shot a gun at another man standing while the one who fell down at the first stood up and gave her a deadly blow. Tina went down while the boss and the other man went to search her car. They got the recording tape and opened it, finding a microchip inside, they took the tape and were going to escape when Tina struggled to stand on her feet. It appeared she has a fractured arm. The place she was given a blow seemed to be fractured but she isn't going to let any one of them escape. The fellow who is yet to stand up on his feet struggled to raise himself and took his pistol from the floor and aimed at Tina. Before he could press the trigger, he heard a gunshot on his lower back and he fell down into his own pool of blood. That was Jordan. He arrived at the scene and discovered that Tina had been attacked already. The three of them left to go into their car and Tina went after them, sending bullets to the car tyres. The men had no option than to run on foot. Jordan went after the one that appeared to be the boss and shot him on his feet. The other three had escaped with each receiving a bullet in their arms or chest. As they were running, one dragging the other along and the other trying his best to escape the police who were on their way. Tina was going to pursue further but Jordan held her back and pulled her into an embrace. He looked at her and saw her arm fractured. " Are you alright Tina?" He asked and almost regretted asking. How can she be alright after fighting with four men and sustaining possibly a fractured arm? There isn't any way she can be alright. Kunle and the others arrived as well and they took the plate numbers of the two cars used by the gunmen. The car was searched thoroughly and nothing found. Jordan helped Tina into his car and drove her off to the hospital. Kunle drove Tina's car and returned with the others to the office. How narrowly Tina had escaped from the claws of those gunmen. The only man among the gunmen who was badly wounded was taken to the hospital by an ambulance and surveillance was placed in his Ward. He was placed on a twenty four hours surveillance and instructions was given to the hospital management to prevent anyone from seeing him. " Henceforth, you stay with me. I won't let any harm come to you" Jordan assured and glanced sideways at Tina. Tina just closed her eyes and nodded. Since she closed her eyes, Jordan glanced at her again, she's beautiful. He still can't believe such a pretty lady would volunteer to become a detective. It's not like beautiful women are not detectives,but she's an exception. They arrived at a private hospital and the doctors recognized Jordan immediately. He was attended to when he said his colleague was wounded. Tina's arm was bandaged and she was injected. The doctors asked that she stay up in the hospital for further observation but Tina refused vehemently. She got her drugs prescription and told Jordan they should return back to the office. She has important work to do that morning. Jordan tried persuading her to rest according to the doctor's instructions but she refused. She will come every day for a check up. Jordan was impressed. This lady seemed to impress him on every side. They got into the car and headed back to the office. "Tina dear" Isabella mused as she went to hug Tina by the side. She cupped her face and asked her if she's ok to be in the office. Tina smiled. They all thought she was weak. She is stronger than she appears but she appreciates their concern for her. "Thank you Isabella. I am fine" she said and smiled more broadly. Jordan stood aside and watched them both, they seemed like two sisters within the shortest time they've met. "I'm glad you are safe and alright," Kunle stuttered. They all were happy. Except the bandage on Tina's arm, none would have known that one of them escaped death that morning. Jordan received a memo from the communication department and his eyes suddenly went frosty. " What's the matter?" Kunle asked, Jordan's sudden change of mood indicates something unpleasant has happened. " There have been another murder case" Jordan disclosed. They are yet to unfold the present murder case and another one has popped out. " In this city?" Isabella asked, looking distressed. This is getting complicated. She hoped it's not the handiwork of a serial killer. " Yeah, in this city. One Lulu James.." Jordan was saying when Tina opened her eyes wide opened and exclaimed; " Oh shit, Lulu is dead?"
