Chapter 1203
Serenity quickly dialed Lisa's phone number only to hear the busy ringtone. Serenity tried to call several times in a row, but none of it got through.
Unable to reach Lisa, Serenity felt a sense of uneasiness growing within herself. Lisa! Please be safe!
Serenity tried to search the internet for more news about Terry's current whereabouts, but the earlier headline was the only news she found. Terry was just a businessman and not a star. He did not get much attention as the head of the White family, so the news of his whereabouts had not been trending.
What was going on with Lisa? Why hadn't Lisa been answering her phone?! Serenity also tried texting and messaging Lisa. She did anything she could to get in touch, but there was no reply.
Serenity hesitated before reaching out to Lisa's parents. She had their number saved in her phone, but she stopped contacting them after she had gotten involved in the accident and gone to prison. Lisa's parents hated her but for a reason. She was the reason why Lisa had given up her studies abroad and returned to work as a designer in a small firm.
It took a long time, but eventually, someone picked up the phone. The nasally voice asked, "Hello, who is it?"
That must be Lisa's mother! Serenity thought and then said, "Hello, Mrs. Quest. I'm Serenity…" But before she could finish speaking, Mrs. Quest shouted as if to vent her anger, "Why are you calling me?! You should be grateful to Lisa! Don't bother us at a time like this!"
After that, Mrs. Quest hung up the phone!
Serenity was stunned. She tried to call again, but there was no answer. Maybe Mrs. Quest had blocked her number.
Serenity rose, grabbing her wallet and keys. She dashed out of the room, rushing to Lisa's home. She soon arrived at the Quest family's residence, but no one answered when she rang the doorbell. Noticing Serenity, the neighbor next door came out and told her, "Are you looking for them? They're at the hospital. There's no one at home!"
"Hospital?!" Serenity was shocked.
"Yes. I heard their daughter was seriously injured. She's in the hospital! I don't know what's going on," the neighbor mumbled.
Serenity froze with fear. "What do you mean? Lisa?! She's seriously injured? She's in the hospital?"
"That's what I heard," the neighbor told her.
"W-Which hospital?" Serenity's lips trembled. It took almost all her strength to force out this question.
Serenity dashed out of the neighborhood upon getting an answer and took a cab to the hospital. While on the way, she desperately told herself that it would be all right. Lisa would be all right. Maybe the neighbor had misheard the news and assumed Lisa was seriously injured.
That was what she told herself, but her heart pounded heavily. Her body could not stop trembling.
