And so, Serenity silently made up her mind and then made an appointment with Dr. Landale through the phone conversation they had just had. Meanwhile, after she had ended the call, Connor Gunn knocked on Jackson's office door and walked in. "Mr. Valor," he reported, "Miss Lewis just contacted Dr. Landale and made an appointment with her. It's on the day after tomorrow." Jackson lowered his gaze. His long fingers were grasping a fountain pen at the time, and he kept on putting signatures on the documents in front of him as if nothing had happened, saying simply, "Okay. I got it."
