Chapter 90.
Author’s POV.
Axel walked out of the house that had been ablaze and was already burning down. Today, he was fully fulfilled. Today, he had fulfilled the promise he made to himself as a child who needed to do what was right. Even though this whole thing couldn’t bring back his parents and brother, he felt a bit of relief.
Axel reached out for his phone and placed a call through.
“Axel.” Mr. Martin’s voice came up as the call connected.
“I am done. I am done taking them down. I am safe now. Your daughter is safe too. You do not have to ever worry about us,” he said calmly, and Mr. Martin smiled.
“You never gave up on this promise of yours. I am proud of you.”
Axel smiled, recalling how this very man had helped him through high school and college days.
