Chapter 6
At least I got permission. I sigh. Not that I care. Who am I kidding? I do care about his opinions and decision, even if I don't want to.
Deciding that I need to practice for the fight, I turn towards the ground Mischa showed me earlier where the pack practices but decide to change my clothes before going for the practice.
As I walk into the pack house Stella with two of her minions comes strolling in front of me and smirks evilly at me. Oh I know the meaning of this smile. Of course she loves bitching, must be her favorite talent if she possesses any.
“Hello there, look who is here? Just another rogue trying to claim my position” Stella comments as she stops in front of me.
Now that I think I am sure Stella wasn't present on the clearing and definitely has no idea about me. I will use this to my advantage; let the poor girl think she can beat me.
“Uh oh, exactly this is the point where we differ” I say casually as I step ahead intimidating her. “I am the Luna” I finish as I smirk at her reaction. She is clearly affected by me.
“What do you think of yourself huh? You think a skinny and weak rogue like you can be a Luna?” she says and smirks and her minions high five each other giggling.
“Well why not claim your position the right way? Prove your strength and we'll know.” I sass as I roll my eyes at their immature behavior. She looks unbelievably at me, clearly not expecting my retort.
“My.. My...Too much of confidence you just wait, the day Eldon chooses me over you, you will get to know your position and don't you dare threaten me. You don't know who I am” she yells the last line as her face turns red. I bite my lip to stop myself from laughing but still manage to smile a bit.
“Okay now if you are done I don't have time for you save it for later, I am busy” I retort as I pass her and walk towards a laughing Mischa standing at the threshold of the room. She high five me and then hugs me from side.
“You got sass girl. You make me love you even more every hour” she mumbles between her laughs.
“Now, I need to practice I have a fight probably tomorrow so can we go to the grounds?” I ask.
“The ground won't be free and Eldon won't allow a member of another pack to practice there. Maybe you can practice near the river come I will show you” she answers as she holds my hand dragging me towards the riverside.
“Oh and Yeah, I want to know all about you. Now that I think about it, I don't want any more shocks! Tell me all at once” I laugh and shake my head at her as she glares at me.
“No, nothing left. I am the commander of the rogue pack but they call me Alpha, I am a natural healer. I don't know from whom I have possessed this because I know nothing about my parents. But definitely, one of my parents must have been a healer. I was in Sun Pack earlier before they banished me for some unknown reasons. Rachel is my caretaker more like my mother and she is the one who taught me everything and made me who I am. That's pretty much the story of my life” I finish and look around and realize we have reached the riverside.
“I am sorry to ask this but, why don't you know anything about your parents?” she questions curiously as leaves her hold on my hand.
“I was three or maybe four, I'm not sure, when Rachel found me in the forest. None of us know anything about my parents” I answer as I look towards the river to hide my pain. I wish I had a family, a father to teach me, a mother to love me. But I am grateful to god, I have Rachel. I am still lucky. Lucky is understatement actually.
Mischa places her hand on my shoulder and squeezes it smiling softly at me.
“I am here for you if you need me” she says softly and I smile at her showing how grateful I am, to have her. Even if it's only a day of us knowing each other, we still understand each other. She makes me smile and laugh and makes me feel normal.
“Now you should practice and I am leaving. Bye! See you at dinner” she waves as she runs away. I gaze at her confused as why she left like that in so hurry? But my questions are answered soon as a familiar scent fills my nostrils.
I feel someone staring at me as I look at the other end of the river to find Eldon standing there and staring at me. He doesn't even budge when he sees me looking at him.
Creepy but my wolf likes it.
Oh I almost forgot to mention my wolf's name. Where are my manners? She is Lean. Say hello to her people!
‘His wolf is happy right now’ Lean chirps.
‘Oh but we cannot be with them Lean’ I remind her.
‘I know...’ Lean says sadly, ‘but it makes me happy to see his wolf praising our presence’
I smile internally as I shake my head and deviate my attention from the person burning holes on my side and start with my practice.
‘His wolf is upset with him’ Lean says in between of me practicing.
‘I can literally feel his struggle for us Adele.
Oh I wish we were normal mates’ she finishes sadly as I feel the sadness equally engulfing me.
Oh how strongly I wish, I was normal. And we both can live together as normal mates do.
Fate is really hard on us. I remind my wolf. First it took our parents, then Rachel, then our pack and then is taking away our mate. Adding on it, he is leaving us with a huge problem, that we have no idea about, why is it happening?
‘Should we tell our mate about that? He can help’ Lean suggests.
‘Nah, he don't want us. If he desires us now that he knows I'm trained then I don'twant him. And above all why will he help us?’ I tell her as I cut her off and concentrate on my practice.
