Chapter 17
Weston was standing in front of the floor-to-ceiling mirror and smoking anxiously when the meeting room's door was pushed open. He had tried to leave several times, but the muscular men stationed outside the door prevented him from doing so.
He knew that the men were Jeremy's subordinates.
After he got a good look at the newcomers, Weston snubbed out his cigarette. He stared at Sylvia and said in an adoring tone, "Vivi, I'm here to bring you home."
He completely ignored Jeremy, who was standing right next to her.
Sylvia looked at him indifferently. "I never realized you were such a shameless person, Weston," she replied coldly.
Weston stopped breathing for a brief moment. Regret festered in his heart. "I know that you hate me, Vivi. I know that you hate me for misunderstanding you and pushing you into the pits of hell. But please let me explain. Elaine was pulling the strings all along. I was tricked by her too.
