He slid into the back of the car that was waiting for him outside his father’s office and gave the address to the driver, urging him to hurry. The drive to the hospital was interminable. Eventually, they made it and Declan was out of the car before it came to a complete stop. He raced inside and startled the receptionist as he demanded to be told where Chloe was being treated. The receptionist refused to give him any details because he wasn’t a relative and it didn’t matter that he was the father of the baby.
