#Chapter 8 – Saying the wrong name.
Erin’s POV
I sat in my car with a heavy heart after my encounter with Gavin. I stared down at my hand where I could see the indent of the ring that once occupied that finger, and I sighed in defeat.
I was going to have to tell Henry that I misplaced the ring. He was going to be so upset with me.
“Well, if you didn’t insist on not using his money, then you could have gotten that ring,” Emily said with a sigh.
“Are you crazy? I couldn’t use his money for something like this. I don’t need his money…” I argued in return. “I get paid in a few days. Maybe I will try again.”
I stared out my window; the shadow of Gavin had disappeared long ago. I shouldn’t still be thinking about him, but that woman he was with was very beautiful. I wasn’t aware he had someone as well; I guess I shouldn’t be too surprised. He is Gavin Pierce after all; he’s incredibly handsome. It would have been crazy if he didn’t have someone just as beautiful on his arm.
I was a nobody in comparison.
“Don’t say such ridiculous things about yourself,” Emily scolded. “Trust me, it’s the glamour and the dress that makes her beautiful. You are far more gorgeous than her when you dress up.”
“I haven’t gotten dressed up like that in a long time. I’m old now,” I tell her in return.
I thought back to the lifestyle I once lived; there was a part of me that missed it, but I was better off the way I am now. I enjoyed living a simple life and working for my money, rather than using the money my father gave me. I have spent so long being taken care of; I don’t want that for myself anymore.
Gavin deserved somebody who could match his lifestyle.
I just wasn’t her. Not anymore.
…
Gavin’s POV
Susanna seemed to have forgotten about that encounter with Erin. Or at least she didn’t bring it up after they parted ways.
It was probably because, to Susanna, Erin looked nothing more than a simple she-wolf. She certainly didn’t look remarkable in the clothing she wore in comparison to Susanna.
Gavin found himself irritated that Erin pretended to not know him, but perhaps it was for the better. He didn’t want to give Susanna any reason to be upset with him. As Seth had said, he needed to keep her happy.
As they returned to Gavin’s car, Susanna had a small frown on her face as she peered over at his side complexion. He glanced over at her with a questioning frown.
“We didn’t get that much stuff,” she said with a sigh. “I was hoping for a nice piece of jewelry I could wear all the time. Something that reminds me of you. I saw a beautiful antique necklace in the window of that jewelry store…”
“I’ll make sure to get it for you,” Gavin promised her. “You deserve nothing but the best.”
“You mean it?” Susanna asked, her eyes beaming.
“Of course.”
“In that case, the necklace will be at the upcoming auction. I saw the sign beside it. Will you accompany me to this auction? If you auction a necklace for me, everyone will know how much you truly love me.”
“Yes, of course,” Gavin agreed.
She stared at him for a short moment, a surprised, and yet pleased look on her face.
“I will convince my father to get our whole family behind you. I will perform well at the Alpha Conference, my love.”
Gavin glanced at her, surprised by her words. His plan of wooing her was working.
“I appreciate that, Susanna,” he said, giving her a fond smile as he put his car in drive and pulled away. “Let me take you home now.”
“Oh, but this evening has been so nice, Gavin,” she breathed, peering out the window before looking back at him. “I was thinking, maybe I could just come over.”
His body tensed at her words; from the flirtatious sound in her tone, he knew exactly what she was thinking. He couldn’t deny her now that he had her exactly where he wanted her.
He agreed to take her home with him; she was pleased by his response and continued to gaze out the window with a loving look reflecting in her eyes.
…
They returned to Gavin’s home, and immediately dismissed themselves in Gavin’s room. Susanna was eager to get her gown off and Gavin admired her beauty as her gown fell delicately to the ground, surrounding her feet. She stepped out of her shoes, making her an entire inch shorter, and stepped closer to him.
This wasn’t the first time he had seen her naked and he certainly wasn’t displeased. Susanna has always had a nice body; she used to be a model before she started fashion designing, so her nice figure wasn’t surprising.
Gavin undid his tie first and then unbuttoned his shirt, peering into the excited eyes of the she-wolf before him. She glanced around his broad and muscular body, her breathing growing strong as more excitement rose in her features.
She ran her manicured fingers down his abs, biting onto her bottom lip. He could feel her hunger and that pleased him.
Erin had the same hungry look in her eyes when she saw his body as well. The image of having his way with her on the bar in that hotel suite caused his member to shift. Something Susanna had noticed, and a small smile appeared on her lips.
Gavin was glad that he was able to get hard, however, he wasn’t sure if it was because he thought of Erin at that moment, or because Susanna stood before him in all her glory.
He undid his pants and allowed himself free from his boxers; Susanna gasped at his large length and a little redness appeared around her nose and cheeks. He used his hand to lift her gaze to meet his and he pressed his lips against her.
They were soft, but she didn’t kiss him with a burning hunger as Erin once did. Her lips remained unmoved, and he was left having to do most of the work. Though, she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled herself close to him.
Her body felt nice against his; she had soft skin and she always smelled of vanilla. She jumped and wrapped her legs around him, allowing him to carry her to the bed. He broke his kiss from her lips and ran them down the nape of her neck.
She chuckled at the sensation; he found her chuckling to be oddly annoying. That wasn’t what he wanted to hear at that moment. He thought about when he kissed Erin’s neck and she moaned with pleasure.
Erin had draped her slender fingers in his hair, tugging at it gently and breathing as if her life depended on it. Her juices had escaped her and ran down her legs, wanting Gavin to taste them. Her large breasts, pink and hard, begged Gavin to bite them. He took them into his mouth, tugging at her nipples, making her gasp in delight.
He ran his kisses back up the nape of her neck, nibbling on her ear lobe gently before kissing her gentle lips once again. His cock was hard against her, begging to be driven deep within her. His tongue explored her curiously, trying to taste everything she had to offer.
She moaned softly into his ear, sending goosebumps to attach to his body.
“Mmmmm…” he breathed, echoing the sounds of her moans. “Fuck me, Erin…”
Soon, her entire body froze.
“Erin?” Susanna said, breaking him out of his trance. “Who is Erin??”
