Marilyn Goldberg, Sean's mother, made Anthea try on the gold jewelry in the jewelry store. Each time Anthea expressed interest in a piece, Marilyn would ask the store employee to pack it up. Clearly, she was very fond of Anthea. After the wedding incident, she looked into the matter and learned about the treatment Anthea had to endure at the hands of the Jeffersons. "And that's just the tip of the iceberg! I can't imagine how much more I'm not aware of!" Ever since then, Marilyn often felt sympathetic toward Anthea, especially when she had always wanted a daughter. Her late husband had passed away early, and Sean was her only child. After she grew fonder of Anthea, she treated her like a daughter. The butler carried a lot of shopping bags from this trip. Anthea excused herself, saying she wanted to use the restroom. When she turned a corner, Harlan showed up from nowhere and grabbed her hand. In fact, she had seen him with Beatrice on the first floor. Now, he was alone on the
