I began rubbing her arm in comfort, trying again to coax her to a stand but realising soon enough that my attempts were futile. I tried to think of any other options we had, sighing lowly as I slowly stood up and walked over to Gianna a couple of feet away, "How far from the house are we?"
"About ten minutes," She estimated uneasily, "Eight if we're quick."
I pursed my lips anxiously and crossed my arms in thought, knowing that ten minutes was an uncomfortable amount of time to be left this exposed. I began weighing our options, and surreally found myself asking a question that a month ago I never thought would leave my mouth, "What if you're a wolf? How long then?"
Surprisingly she grimaced slightly in almost embarrassment, "Longer. Those guys in the clearing have training. Some can shift in less than a minute, my record is twenty."
