Chapter 15
Cameron led Cassandra upstairs, heading straight to the women's section. He looked like he was burning with frustration. For everything that caught his eye, he asked the staff to get one in Cassandra's size and wrap them all up.
The sales associate gently reminded him, "She can try them on first if you'd like."
Cameron said, "No time for that. If they don't look good, we'll just donate them."
The sales associate fell silent after that and quietly started packing everything.
The two arrived home with their arms full of shopping bags, only to see a familiar car parked at the entrance. Cameron's expression instantly tensed.
When they walked into the living room, both his parents were there. Lisa had already served them coffee, but both of them looked visibly displeased.
Cassandra had been through this before. She knew the drill well by now.
Sure enough, Simon Dorsey was the first to speak. "Why did you get back so late?"
Cameron pulled Cassandra behind him. "I took Cassie shopping
