Serena drew in a sharp breath. "You want to get rid of Avery's baby? Damien, have you lost your mind—" "Watch your mouth!" Damien cut in icily. "If a single word of this gets out, I won't spare you!" He flicked a glance at the clock. "It's late. You can go. And this is my home with Avery. From now on, unless one of us says otherwise, don't show up here again." The color drained from Serena's face, and anger made her shake. "Damien, don't forget, if it hadn't been for me, you would have—" He let out a mocking laugh. "I don't deny that you saved me. I remember it. For five years, I have treated you well and gone out of my way to help your father. "I can cover any financial need you have. But if you plan to hang that debt over my head for life or hold it hostage, give it up. No one threatens me." "I... I didn't mean it like that," Serena said, her voice trembling. Damien's patience was gone. "Leave. Stop hovering in front of me for no reason." He turned and headed for the bedroom.
