Chapter 23
After Frost nodded, Harvey graciously gestured that he got it and drove the car inside.
Peter leaned against the hood of his car and handed her a drink. "I still remember the day we went on the blind date. You had this pomegranate drink on the table. You were wearing a bright-colored dress, too."
Frost took it, twisted off the cap, and took a sip without saying a word. She could tell that Peter was different that day. He hadn't come to win her back.
Peter looked at her and smiled faintly. "I looked at you that day and thought that you were really old. The other women I'd met before wouldn't even dare to look me in the eye."
He skipped over the part where he had wanted to marry Tara.
Then, he continued, "Later, I was still thinking about the Lynch family. That day, I sat by the river for a whole day, asking myself whether I could really marry a woman I didn't love for the sake of money. I was greedy, wanting to save the company and still have a happy family.
