Chapter 19 Eva's point of View The car ride home felt like it took forever. Max didn't say anything, and I didn't either. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. The air in the car felt heavy and uncomfortable, like when you're in a room with someone you just had a big fight with. Every now and then, I'd sneak a look at Max.
