Chapter 107: The Unseen Listener RILEY I'd been trying to build the perfect ramp that my toy cars were going to use when I heard Mum's voice getting louder downstairs. She seemed to be in a heated conversation with someone but it seemed one sided which meant that the person she was talking to was not in front of her. She sounded angry and frustrated about something which wasn't unusual lately, but something about her tone made me pause in what I was doing with my toys.  She was talking to someone on the phone, and even though I knew I shouldn't listen to grown-up conversations, I got curious about this call.
