Chapter 393
XENOIS
We went downstairs to where the permanent portal stood----a shimmer in the air that connected our house to Zade's territory. It had become so normal that I barely noticed it anymore, this impossible tear in reality that let us walk between territories as easily as moving between rooms.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"Zade has a cabin in the mountains," Lumina said. "About twenty miles from the main pack house. He said we could use it. Completely private, fully stocked, no one around for miles."
"You planned this," I realized.
"I planned this," she confirmed. "Because if I left it up to you, you'd find seventeen reasons why we couldn't leave."
She wasn't wrong.
We stepped through the portal, reality folding around us in that distinctive sensation that still made my stomach flip despite months of regular use. On the other side, we were in Zade's territory----specifically his main pack house.
Lyn was waiting, holding keys and a knowing smile.
