The bright noon sun cast a soft golden hue on his fair, handsome face, bringing out a warmth that made it hard to look away.
Sharp features, polished demeanor, hailed as the golden boy of L City’s business elite — with an admirable family background to top it off.
Mr. Perfect, basically. No wonder every heiress in high society had him on their dream guy list.
“No, thanks.” Cassandra’s rejection was cold as ice. She even took a step back like he carried the plague.
Inwardly, she cursed her luck. Should’ve checked the damn calendar before stepping out today.
Ethan’s warm gaze flashed with a chill as his fingers clenched tighter around the steering wheel.
“It’s tough to get a cab around here,” he said with a polite smile, clearly suppressing his annoyance.
“That’s not your concern,” Cassandra snapped, not sparing him a glance before turning around and walking off.
She hadn’t gone far before her wrist was grabbed.
“Cassandra, have I wronged you somehow? What’s with the constant sarcasm?”
