Lilah tossed her car keys to a random bodyguard without much thought and walked inside, totally unaware she just pulled off a huge misunderstanding.
Gabriel, having caught the noise outside, stepped into the courtyard.
Tall and dressed in black, with sharp, refined features—he looked like he finally let out a breath when he saw her.
"You're back." His voice was low and smooth, almost magnetic in the quiet night.
"Yeah, the surgery went well."
Lilah flashed him a radiant smile. Under the hazy moonlight, her eyes sparkled brighter than diamonds.
"Did you eat yet?" Gabriel asked.
Lilah's face fell a little. "Nope. Starving."
"What do you feel like eating?" Gabriel raised his hand and gently ruffled her hair.
"Anything I want?" She tilted her head, thinking hard. "Seafood sounds good, but I don't think we have any at home. And it's kinda late... the market's probably closed."
"Some restaurants should still be open. Let's eat out."
