Verity bit her lip hard, glaring as she turned back to her room.
The moment he picked Lilah, it was like she'd been tossed aside.
But then another thought hit her—Lilah had lost it two years ago at the Wallace estate. Going back there now? Not gonna end well.

She'd grown up practically half-raised by the Wallace family. They were like a second home to her.
But after her breakdown two years ago, things had flipped hard. They shut her out completely.
