Chapter 101

Aidan knew that Richard must be in pain. He didn't want to argue with Richard, but there was no way what Richard said was true. Richard walked up to Aidan and poked him in the chest. "I won't believe a single word you say. My daughter would never hurt anyone." But Aidan didn't care if Richard believed him or not. The important thing was that Richard had to live. He knew very well the loss he would suffer if something happened to Richard. Richard didn't cry at Eddie's funeral. He was the one who buried Eddie's ashes. He whispered, "My dear son, I couldn't protect you in this life. In the next one, I'll make it up to you." He stroked the urn and spoke inwardly, "Just wait for me. I'll be with you soon." ...... After the funeral, everyone descended the mountain together. Robert was worried that Richard would be too distressed to climb down, so he asked someone to support Richard. However, Richard waved the person away. "Go away. I don't need any help from the Nelson family." The bodyguard had no choice but to step back. As he approached a steep spot halfway down the mountain, Richard smiled to himself. He quietly raised his foot... Without any hesitation, he didn't put his foot down. Instead, he allowed his body to tilt forward.  Aidan sensed that something was wrong and shouted, "Stop him." But it was too late.  Richard fell head first onto the ground and started to bleed. Then, his body started rolling down the stairs. The bodyguards quickly chased after him. After lurching forward for another 20 meters, one of the bodyguards managed to jump in front of Richard and stopped him from falling further. By then, Richard couldn't even move his hands and feet. Aidan quickly strode to his side and squatted down, fear lingering in his eyes. Blood oozed from the corner of Richard's mouth, but he looked at Aidan and smiled. "Don't think about... using... using me to control my daughter anymore... You're... not... worthy..." After uttering those words, he lost his consciousness.  Aidan panicked and shouted as if he had gone crazy, "Quick! Carry him down the mountain and send him to the hospital." Everyone climbed down the mountain anxiously. Robert ran down while calling for an ambulance. When their car reached the suburb, they saw the ambulance. Richard was transferred to the ambulance for emergency treatment.  Aidan boarded the ambulance with him. He looked at the doctor who was rescuing Richard. His voice was filled with fear and panic. "Save him. Don't let him die." Richard couldn't die. He must not die... Eliana was in her ward. For the third time, she asked the bodyguards to open the door. She wanted to see Eddie. However, every time she asked the bodyguard to let her out, he would reply with the same sentence. "Sorry, Miss Harvey. Without Master Aidan's orders, you can't leave the ward." "Then go and fetch Aidan for me." Eliana didn't know why, but that day, she felt oddly unsettled. Since Aidan left last night, he hadn't come to visit her again. But he allowed her to visit Eddie the previous day... So why not at present? She even promised Eddie that she would visit him then! If she didn't go, Eddie, who was very sensitive, would overthink about it. Most importantly, she was really worried about Eddie. "Why are you still standing here? I want to see Aidan." As soon as Eliana finished speaking, the door of the ward was swung open. Aidan walked in. Eliana looked at him with spite in her eyes. "Aidan, why are you locking me in here? Why can't I see Eddie?" Aidan looked up coldly, his eyes stern. "Do you think that you can still do whatever you like, now that you're in my hands?" He glanced at the bodyguard and said coldly, "Bring her back to Blanchard Garden."
