Chapter 12

I can’t believe that he dares to ask me what happened when he’s the cause of everything that has happened to me thus far…! Seeing that Eliana merely glared at him without saying anything, Aidan prompted coldly, “Don’t give me that look and answer my goddamn question.” “Well,” Eliana pursed her lips before she continued, “I guess it’s just my karma - karma for falling for someone whom I shouldn’t have fallen for. This is the price that I have to pay.” “Don’t you try and turn everything against me.” Aidan growled threateningly, “You have no right to do this.” I don’t have a right to say this? What else can I say to someone as ruthless and cruel as you then? Eliana cleared her throat as she bent down to pick up the liver donation agreement before placing it beside her on the sofa - she stated curtly, “Aidan, I’ve made my conditions clear. Whether or not you wish to accept them is up to you.” Aidan narrowed his eyes at Eliana, “You are nothing but a mere liver donor - you are in no position to try and bargain with me. Especially not with the debt that your father still owes me.” “I’ll pay you back.” “You? Hmm? How?” Aidan scowled as he looked Eliana up and down in an almost contemptuous and derogatory manner. “And how do you intend to do that? With your scared and damaged body?” Eliana clenched her fists as she tried her best to contain her anger - “Yes, that’s right.” She replied in the calmest voice that she could muster, “I’m going to pay you back with this body. I thought that you of all men should know that this is what quite a lot of men are into.” Aidan growled as he shoved Eliana back onto the sofa, “You’re really shameless, you know that? Unable to live and fend for herself without the help of a man...you know damn well just how filthy and dirty you are. Why do you still bother to continue acting all pure and innocent then?” Eliana snorted, “Who said that I was pretending? I just wanted to spice things up so that things wouldn’t be so boring, you know - hmm, it’s a pity that that guy couldn’t appreciate. He was so timid that he ran off with his tail in between his legs!” Aidan couldn’t believe that Eliana still had the nerve to act all smart with him - he growled warningly, “You’d better shut your mouth this instant, Eliana - or I’m going to make you pay with your life!” Instead of feeling frightened or intimidated, Eliana smirked - somehow, seeing Aidan so worked up and infuriated made her feel thrilled and challenged. She didn’t know why, but she liked the adrenaline rushing through her veins seeing him act up like this. “You know what, Aidan? You’re right - you’re so, so right. I’m nothing but a cheap whore - I’ve been with so many men that I’ve lost count a long time ago…” Smack! Aidan sent a tight slap across Eliana’s face before the latter could complete her sentence - this was the first time that the former had ever hit her. Unfortunately for Aidan, however, Eliana had been through so much over the past two years that she’d long grown immune and numb to the pain - she carried so many scars and wounds on her body that she could no longer feel anything. Just then, Aidan stood up from where he was seated and lunged forward - he captured Eliana in his embrace once again and roared lowly, “You know what? Fine - since you want a man so much, I’ll give it to you. Let’s see just how cheap and shameless you can be…” Eliana started to panic and struggle, “What the heck - l-let go of me, you bastard! I’ll let anyone do me - anyone but you! L-let go, let go of me this instant!” I would rather die than get together with him ever again! Aidan glared at Eliana - only to be met with the bold and fearless look in her eyes. She had changed for sure - there didn’t seem to be any actual fear in her eyes anymore. The latter simply stared right back at him, as though she was challenging him rather than feeling any actual sort of fear towards him. And so, he let her go - Eliana then silently went to put her clothes back on before picking up the liver donor agreement to sign it. After doing so, she walked out of the study without another word. Eliana entered the living room, where Robert was sitting. The latter got up and greeted the former respectfully upon noticing that she’d come in, “Miss Harvey.” “Get me a glass of milk, Robert.” Robert couldn’t help but feel surprised by her request. When Aidan and Eliana had first gotten together, the former would always get Robert to give Eliana a glass of milk sprinkled with contraceptives every time after they had sex. Robert had always thought that Eliana had no idea - but it became apparent at this very moment that this was not the case. Not knowing what he should do, Robert remained in his spot - just then, Aidan walked out of his study. The former immediately looked up and exchanged a glance with the latter, silently asking him what he should do next. Aidan glared at Eliana - Oh, you really don’t want to carry my child, huh? Okay, very well - fine! “Just give it to her.” Aidan reaffirmed icily. And so, Robert turned to head into the kitchen to prepare the glass of milk. After drinking the milk, Eliana returned the glass to Robert before staggering out into the corridor - even though it was nearly dawn, it was still raining quite heavily. Despite this, Eliana stumbled out onto the road - even though she was bare-footed, she could barely feel the cold and icy surface of the concrete ground. Eliana knew that she had to get to the Royal Duke Club as quickly as she could - even though it was quite far away from Aidan’s place, where she currently was, the former knew that she had no other choice if she wanted to save her father. At this exact moment, Robert walked into Aidan’s study and reported, “Second Young Master - Miss Harvey has taken her leave. I couldn’t keep her from going out.” Aidan shot his housekeeper an indifferent look. Robert added, “Oh, Miss Harvey’s shoes are still in the study - she left barefooted.” Aidan was silent for a moment before he stood up from where he was seated and walked out of the study. Just as he was about to head out of the room, the former halted - he glanced at Robert and ordered, “Look into what happened to Eliana while she’d been serving her prison sentence over the past two years.” “Yes, Second Young Master.” … Aidan ended up following Eliana and caught up with her at the intersection. The former rushed forward to grip the latter by the wrist, only for her to shake him off. “What else do you want?” Eliana growled, “I’ve already signed the liver donor agreement, just like you wanted me to - don’t worry, I’ll be sure to show up on the day of the operation. I won’t go back on my word.” Despite this, Aidan ignored her and scooped Eliana up into his arms. He narrowed his eyes at her as he retorted curtly, “I don’t care whether or not you’re dead or alive - but your liver must remain healthy. You’d better behave yourself before the operation and know better than to try and pull any of your crafty tricks on me.” “My father…” “You still want to try and bargain with me before the operation?” Aidan scorned, “Eliana, stop making a fool out of yourself - don’t you know that everything that’s coming out of your mouth right now is utterly shameless and disdainful?” Eliana gritted her teeth as she glared at Aidan, her eyes full of hatred and resentment. “Aidan - I’ll make sure that you go to hell.” The next morning, Robert arranged for someone to go up to the guest room and fetch Eliana for breakfast. The latter was on her way to the living room when she heard a weak cry sound out from there, “...Ellie?” The voice sounded so revolting to Eliana that she couldn’t help but feel her hair stand on their ends.
