Chapter 4
Aidan Nelson waited outside the operating room, tapping his feet against the floor nervously and anxiously as he did so.
His heart sank when he noticed the vicious bite wounds littered all over Eliana’s arms and legs.
Just then, a sound of footsteps trailed from behind him - it was Laura, who stalked over to Aidan’s side.
“Aidan! I heard about what happened - how is Ellie doing? Is she-oh my God, Aidan, your shoulder! What happened to it?” Laura cried out frantically as she bent over to check on the former’s wounds.
Alas, Aidan raised his hand and brushed Laura’s hand away - “What did you tell Eliana about the child?” he asked in an extremely straightforward manner, his voice cold and indifferent.
“I asked someone to give the child to Ellie last night...but this morning, when I went to the hospital to visit her, I heard that she...she…”
Aidan’s eyes turned cold at Laura’s hesitation, “What did she do?”
“She...she said that since you didn’t want the child, she didn’t want to keep it either - and so, she ordered for the child to be fed to the security dogs in the yard…”
Aidan couldn’t believe his ears - he gritted his teeth and clenched his fists, utterly shocked and outraged at the same time.
Laura gently took Aidan by the arm to try and soothe him - she coaxed, “Please don’t be angry, Aidan...Ellie was probably so blinded with rage that she became muddle-headed and made such a rash and impulsive decision. The security guard said that she immediately regretted what she did as soon as she did it, but it was too late...I heard that she was bitten up pretty badly. I don’t know if she’s going to be okay.”
Just then, Aidan shot up from where he was seated and looked like he was about to walk away.
Laura followed him and asked, “Aidan, where are you going? Ellie isn’t out yet, she’s still…”
“Don’t you dare tell me anything about her from now onwards. Everything that involves her has nothing to do with me.”
Aidan spat, throwing Laura a cold glance before leaving.
Laura couldn’t help but raise her eyebrows in puzzlement as she watched Aidan walk away into the distance.
I’ve been with Aidan for quite a long time now - but never have I ever gotten such a look from him. He looked so worried and concerned...
...what right does Eliana have to get such a look from him instead of me?
Laura scoffed at this thought - she then turned to her subordinates and ordered: “Give my aunt a call.”
“Yes, Miss Collins.”
Just then, Laura glanced back at the doors of the operating room, her eyes rife with evil and menace - Eliana, have you ever wondered just what does hell feel like? Don’t worry - you’re about to feel it for yourself very soon.
......
Eliana found herself in the hospital when she regained consciousness.
The jabbing pain in her lower abdomen told her that she was still very alive and present - Eliana didn’t know whether to feel disappointed or relieved at this revelation,
Just as she was about to familiarise herself with her surroundings, someone grabbed her by the hair and pulled her off the hospital bed.
Eliana frowned as the face that hovered above hers came into focus - it was Pamela Nelson, Aidan’s aunt.
“You shameless whore - you’ve been living such a wonderful and luxurious life in the Nelson family for such a long time now. Alas, not only are you not the slightest bit grateful, I see that you’ve yet know your place even after so long - how dare you try to kill my nephew with a knife?! Do you know just who you’re dealing with?!”
Eliana couldn’t help but scoff internally at Pamela’s words - Isn’t Pamela the one who’d so brutally harmed Aidan in the past? What right does she have to say this to me now?
She’s here because of her vendetta against me.
Pamela growled and sent a tight slap across Eliana’s face as she noticed the cold stare that the latter was giving her - “You fucking skank! How dare you look at me like that?”
“Mom, there’s no need to waste your time on such a worthless and pathetic woman - let me handle it. I know many ways to make her life miserable.”
It was Paul Griggs, Pamela’s son.
He was broad and sturdy, a bit on the larger side.
Paul’s eyes trailed up and down Eliana’s body, absolutely bold and shameless as a sinister grin crept upon the corners of his lips - he looked as though he was about to commit something extremely despicable and menacing.
Paul Griggs is notorious for his malicious and vicious character in Mallstrick City - I’ll be dead meat if I were to fall into his hands.
Enduring the immense pain that was rising within her, Eliana tried to speak in the calmest and collected fashion that she could muster - “I don’t need you interfering in my and Aidan’s affairs. I want to see Aidan and settle this myself with him.”
“What did you just say? You want to see Aidan?” Pamela screeched in an almost scandalized manner, “Oh God, dream on - don’t you know that Aidan hates you to the core right now? He wants nothing to do with you from no onwards - Paul, I’ll leave this sorry excuse of a woman to you. Do whatever the hell you want with her.”
And so, Paul took a step forward towards Eliana.
Just as Pamela was about to step out of the room, she halted in her tracks and added: “Oh right, Paul - I suggest that you take the necessary protective measures when you deal with her. After all, I’ve heard that this woman is filthy.”
Paul began to unbutton his top as soon as Pamela closed the doors behind her.
“Ah, the prettiest socialite in all of Mallstrick City...did you know that I’ve always wanted to have a taste of you? I never thought that this day would finally come…”
Eliana was petrified and frightened - she tried to cower away from the large pain, only to wince and writhe in agony as a sharp pain shot up through her body from her abdomen.
“P...Paul, I’m warning you...you better not try anything funny...after all, I’m still Aidan’s wife…”
“So what? Aidan’s wife or not, I want you...hehe, it’s so amusing to see you look so helpless and weak...utterly defenseless and trapped…”
Eliana tried to reach for the call button for help, only for Paul to lurch forward and catch her by the wrist before she could press it.
He then pounced onto the bed such that Eliana was pressed under him - snickering wickedly, he whispered into her ear: “Not even God can help you now.”
Paul then lowered his head to plant a kiss on Eliana’s lips.
Alas, Eliana turned her head to the side, trying her best to avoid him - “No, please...this can’t be happening...someone, anyone, please, help me!” She screamed - annoyed with how loud she was being, Paul slapped Eliana before covering her mouth with one hand, tearing the hospital gown that she was wearing with the other…
