Chapter 6

Eliana pulled out her active IV tubes, got out of the bed, and rushed forward to pounce on Laura. "Are you mad? That's Aidan's mother!" Eliana exclaimed. Laura smiled evilly. "So what? I'll get rid of anything that get's in my way." Eliana's eyes were wide in disbelief. Laura pushed her away. Eliana, who was already weak, stumbled and fell to the ground. Because of too much pain, she couldn't get up for a long time. Laura opened the door and left. Eliana struggled to get up and followed Laura out the door. Seeing that she could not catch up with her, she anxiously pulled at the arm of a nurse who was passing by to stop her. "Laura wants to kill... She wants to kill Aidan's mother! Help me to stop her. Please...!" The nurse fended her off in disgust. "Are you mad? Why are you pulling at me? So annoying." Another nurse came over and whispered, "Hey, why be angry with her? She's a madwoman. She's been in a mental hospital for a year. She gave birth to a baby who was stillborn. She's a bad omen. Let's go. Leave her alone." The two nurses looked at Eliana with disgust and then left together. Eliana did not have time to be angry with them. She would have to go after Laura by herself. She could not let Laura succeed with her plan. If her mother-in-law died, then her own mother would have died in vain. No, she couldn't. Eliana stumbled the entire way to Belinda Gerson's ward. In the room, Laura was sitting alone beside her mother-in-law's bed. Her mother-in-law was lying on the bed with her eyes closed. Her condition had not changed. Eliana's heart tightened. Her mother-in-law hadn't woken up. Laura had lied to her. Laura was lying. There must be a reason behind it. Thinking that Aidan didn't trust her at all, she was afraid that if she stayed here she would get into trouble. So she turned and was about to leave. Laura picked up a fruit knife that was on the table and said calmly, "As soon as you walk out that door, your mother-in-law will die, and you will become the murderer." When Eliana turned around she saw Laura holding the fruit knife against Belinda's throat, with a vicious smile on her lips. "Laura, don't mess around," Eliana said nervously. She's Aidan's mother. Don't you love him?" "Yes, I love him. That's why I have to get rid of all the obstacles that stand between me and my love." Eliana shook her head and raised both her hands. "I won't be an obstacle. I'll divorce him." "Divorce? Ha, That's not enough. Your place is in hell." As Laura spoke, she stood up, raised her knife, and stabbed towards Belinda. In a panic, Eliana quickly rushed at Laura and pushed her aside. But the knife in Laura's hand still found it's way into Belinda's left side. At the moment the blood gushed out, Eliana grabbed Laura's arm and tossed her away with all her strength. As her body fell to the ground, the knife in Laura's hand was withdrawn. Belinda's lower abdomen was instantly soaked in blood. Eliana pressed her hand down on the wound and shouted outside in fear, "Somebody come, someone come quick!" Seeing the panic and fear on her face, Laura lay on the ground and did not move. She chuckled and said, "Eliana, this time, I will definitely beat you because I am more venomous than you." After saying that, Laura plunged the fruit knife into her own shoulder. The position of the wound was in exactly the same place as the one where Aidan had been injured. Eliana was stunned. She finally understood Laura's intention. Laura was indeed vicious - so vicious. At that moment, a nurse pushed the door open and came in. Laura shouted excitedly, "Save me. She's going to kill someone!" When the nurse saw the situation in the room, she cried out in fear, "Help." Then turned and ran out. Within the space of a few seconds Aidan, who had come later, barged in through the door. Seeing the mess in the room, he panicked. Laura crawled over next to Aidan's feet and grabbed his trouser hem. "Aidan, hurry and save our mom. She's been wounded." Aidan came forward and saw his mother, whose wound on her lower abdomen was being tightly pressed on by Eliana. He was so angry that he pulled Eliana roughly away. Eliana stumbled and fell to the floor. She shook her head and looked at Aidan. "It wasn't me!" she said quickly. The security guard and medical staff were called over by the nurse who had left first. The medical staff wheeled the injured Belinda out. Eliana got up and grabbed Aidan by the arm. "Trust me, it really wasn't me! No one in this world wants my mother-in-law to wake up more than I do. It was Laura, it was her..." Laura cried in a low voice, "Ellie, I can disregard the harm you've done to me and bear all the blame for you, but... you shouldn't be so vicious. That's Aidan's mother. You... were you afraid that when your aunt comes to, your words will be revealed? So you wanted to kill her? If I wasn't here today, who would you have found to take the blame for you?" Aidan squeezed Eliana by the throat until she was nearly suffocating. His eyes were crimson and he clenched his teeth. "Eliana! If anything happens to my mother, I'll have your whole family pay for it." He shook off Eliana and let the security guard take control of her. Then he helped up Laura, whose wound was still bleeding. Laura took just two steps before she passed out. Aidan picked her up horizontally and quickly left. Eliana knelt on the ground and leaned forward, slowly pressing her forehead to the floor. Her heart... was in too much pain. Why don't you believe me, Aidan? Why can't you just believe me?
