William Frost knew Summer Knight mattered to Alexander Barron, but he hadn’t realized just how much.
His foot throbbed with pain, and he winced. “Barron, your fiancée hit me first!”
“My Summer’s a delicate flower. No way she bullied you,” Alexander replied with a smile that was all lies, clearly taking Summer’s side without hesitation.
“Fine. Whatever. You two win,” William muttered, admitting defeat.
“Let it go, Miss Knight,” Grace Hill said quickly, trying to deescalate the situation.
Summer only backed off then, shooting William a glare filled with fire. “Just so we’re clear — he’s my big bro, not yours!”
If Grace hadn’t stepped in, Summer looked ready to stomp him into the ground.
As Summer pulled her foot back, William stumbled back a couple of steps, grimacing.
He glanced over at Alexander, who was still staring at Summer with a soft smile like he was watching his whole world — those eyes practically dripping honey.
